the day begins with an early morning departure from marrakech, starting the long and scenic transfer.

the drive (approximately 5–6 hours) takes you across the atlas foothills and towards the central high atlas, providing beautiful views as you cross the tizi oughbar pass.

upon arrival in agouti (or a nearby village), you will check-in at a local berber gîte d’étape (family guesthouse), where you will have dinner and spend the night.

after a traditional breakfast, you will begin your first full day of guided hiking (approximately 5–6 hours).

the trekking route leads you through the lush valley floor, passing vibrant terraced fields, ancient walnut and apple orchards, and a mosaic of adobe villages. the main highlight is the visit to the fortified collective granary and shrine of sidi moussa, which offers spectacular panoramic views of the entire “happy valley.”

you will enjoy a picnic lunch or lunch served in a local home before having dinner and spending the night at a gîte in a different village deeper in the valley.

 

this day involves a slightly more challenging trek (approximately 5–7 hours) as you explore the upper reaches of the valley.

the route often ascends towards a higher point or mountain pass, such as tizi n’aït imi (approx. 2900m), rewarding you with incredible, far-reaching views of the magnificent m’goun massif. you will also visit the site of the dinosaur footprints near ibakliouine village.

the late afternoon includes time to explore the area before enjoying dinner and an overnight stay at a local gîte.
