Overview

Trek and hike Sahara-The Pearl of the Sahara: It is a real discovery to which we invite you in a new part of the Sahara. M’hamid, the gateway to the Moroccan desert, is our starting point. The camels and our team take us to Ras Nkhal. This is where our camel trek begins. Our caravan takes an old trade caravan track between Toumbouctou and Morocco, through erg, reg and hammada to reach this sea of sand.
What is the great erg in Morocco. This adventure is possible thanks to the ancestral knowledge of these men of the desert. So with your guide and camel driver and cook team in this intense 8-day hike between dunes, hammada and Reg dry lake we will share with you lots of cultural, historical and natural things. In general, it’s a beautiful, unique Saharan experience.

Tour Plan

1st day: Flight to Marrakech.

On your arrival at Marrakech airport, you will be picked up by our team and taken to the hotel where dinner will be served.

2nd day: Marrakech – Ouarzazate - Rasse ankhal

Departure for the Draa Valley and its long ribbon of palm trees which stretches over 200 km. Passing successively through Agdz, Zagora and Taggounit, we arrive at Ouled Driss in the palm grove of M'Hamid. Loading of the logistics on our pack camels and start of the hike between crops and palm trees. Installation after M’Hamid El Rhozlane.

3rd day: Rasse ankhal- Ait Ounir

Les falaises de la hamada du Drâa au sud, nous progressons au rythme de nos chameaux en direction du premier erg d’Aït Oumir. Quelques tamaris nous procurent un peu d´ombre avant le bivouac.

4th day: Ait Ounir – erg zahare

Still on the left bank of the dry wadi of the Drâa, we take the high dunes of Erg Zaher as a landmark. We will sleep at the foot of the dunes.

5th day: erg zahar – erg smar

Marche plein nord, pour traverser le lit du Drâa et déjeuner à l’ombre de Sidi Taïb. Installation entre les ergs de Sedrar et de Smar.

6th day: erg smar- erg bougarne

The reliefs of the Hamada du Drâa fade into the mists of heat, while the black barrier of Jebel Bani becomes clearer. Leaving the El Attach wadi (the Thirst River), we reach our last bivouac at Erg Bouguern.

7th day: erg bouguerne – Ouarzazate – Marrakech.

After a short walk, we reach the meeting point with the off-road vehicles. Lunch at the restaurant near Zagora. Continuation for Marrakech which we reach at the end of the afternoon. Free dinner.

8th day: Return flight from Marrakech.
