The Merzouga Dunes, located in Morocco, are a breathtaking and iconic natural wonder in the Sahara Desert. These immense sand dunes, often referred to as Erg Chebbi, are known for their stunning golden-orange hues and their surreal, ever-changing landscapes. Rising to heights of up to 150 meters (500 feet), the dunes offer an awe-inspiring sight as they stretch endlessly across the arid desert terrain.

Tour Plan

Day 01 Flight to Marrakech.

Reception at the airport and transfer by minibus to the hotel.

Day 02: Marrakech – Znigui dunes.

Transfer by minibus towards Merzouga via the Valley of Roses, the road of a thousand kasbahs and the magnificent palm grove of Tinerhir. Meet with our camel caravan and short walk to our first bivouac in Erg Znigui where we can discover the stars of a grandiose sky.

Day 03 Znigui – Tamerdanite dunes.

We leave Znigui towards Tamerdanite to enter the heart of the dunes of Erg Chebbi. The immensity of sand stretches as far as the eye can see... We are now walking in our first large dunes. Bivouac at the foot of the dunes and dinner under the southern stars.

Day 04 Tamerdanite – Boughanime dunes.

We continue our hike from dunes to dunes, at the slow pace of our camels. Our caravan moves slowly and we gradually learn about life in the desert, and that of the nomads we meet. The colors vary little by little with the intensity of the sun.

Day 05 Boughanime – Bou Ighd.

We leave in the heart of the dunes of Erg Chebbi, which are the highest in Morocco: some of them reach almost 150 m high, and the view from up there is magnificent! After the effort the comfort ... Bivouac at the foot of the dunes, after an impressive sunset.

Day 06 Bou Ighd – village of Tanamouste.

Nous poursuivons notre incursion dans les dunes pour rejoindre le village de Tanamouste où nous quittons notre équipe de chameliers.

Day 07 Return to Marrakech via the Dades Valley.

We find our vehicles and continue our journey through the Valley of Roses and the Kasbah road to Ouarzazate. The memory of our week in the sands of Erg Chebbi is very present, and the beautiful images are numerous.

Day 08 Return flight from Marrakech.

Transfer to the airport for our return flight.
