Ouzoud Waterfalls
The Ouzoud Waterfalls Excursion is a full-day escape into the natural splendor of the Middle Atlas Mountains. It is a journey of approximately 160 km (100 miles) from Marrakech to the highest waterfall in North Africa, where the El Abid River plunges over 110 meters (360 feet) in a magnificent tiered cascade. The trip offers a refreshing contrast to the city heat and provides a blend of scenic driving, moderate hiking, and unique wildlife encounters.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION :
-Payment: directly to the driver on the day of the tour.
-Please bring closed shoes.
-Minimum of 2 people.
-Meals, the guide, and the boat tour are not included in the excursion price.
PROGRAM OF THE DAY :
Departure: 8:30 AM from Marrakech in a private, air-conditioned van. Enjoy a scenic 2.5-hour drive through the Atlas foothills.
Arrival at Ouzoud Waterfalls: Around 11:00 AM. You have the option to hire a local guide (for an additional fee) to explore the trails and learn about the area’s natural and cultural history.
Exploration & Activities: Spend approximately 4 hours at the waterfalls. Walk along the scenic paths, encounter the playful Barbary macaque monkeys, take photos of the cascading waterfalls, and swim in the refreshing pools if you wish. Enjoy lunch at one of the nearby small restaurants overlooking the falls.
Return to Marrakech: Depart around 3:30 PM and arrive back in Marrakech at approximately 6:00 PM.
