Day 1: Marrakech to the Imnane Valley
  • Activity: Private transfer from Marrakech to Imlil (1,740m). Meet your certified local guide and the muleteer team. Begin trekking with an ascent to the Tizi n’Tamatert Pass (2,279m).

  • Highlights: Panoramic views over the valleys; picnic lunch on the pass; descending into the quiet, remote Imnane Valley.

  • Overnight: Traditional Berber Guesthouse (Gîte) in a village like Tacheddirt or Tinghrine.

  • Meals: Lunch (L), Dinner (D).

  • Activity: A longer day of trekking, crossing two major passes. Hike through Berber villages, farmland, and walnut groves to the Tizi N’Aguersioual Pass (2,000m).

  • Highlights: Deep immersion in untouched villages; passing through different geological landscapes; arriving in the dramatic, secluded Azzaden Valley.

  • Overnight: Traditional Berber Guesthouse (Gîte) in Aït Aïssa or Tizi Oussem.

  • Meals: Breakfast (B), Lunch (L), Dinner (D).

  • Activity: The final, most rewarding climb: ascending the Tizi n’Mzik Pass (2,489m). Descend through juniper forests back to Imlil.

  • Highlights: Achieving the highest point of the trek with a final, sweeping panorama of the Toubkal massif; celebratory lunch in Imlil before the private transfer back to Marrakech.

  • Overnight: Transfer back to your accommodation in Marrakech.

How fit do I need to be for this trek?

This 3-day trek is rated Moderate. You should be comfortable walking 5-7 hours per day on steep, rocky, and uneven terrain. Regular cardio exercise (running, hiking, or cycling) in the weeks prior will make the experience much more enjoyable.

It is obligatory to hire a certified local guide for trekking in this region. This is a safety requirement set by local authorities. Our guides are essential for navigation, language, cultural interpretation, and emergency procedures.

All meals are included during the trek and are traditional, home-cooked Moroccan food (Tagines, soups, fresh bread). For water, your guide will advise on safe refilling points; we encourage you to bring purification tablets or a filter bottle.
